OSH plays an important role in ensuring uninterrupted health services for children and young people. School health nurses provide students with direct health care, leadership in the provision of health services, health promotion, periodic physical examination and health screening, healthy school environment development, health education programs regulation, school health team, cooperation with family and community. task. Increasing chronic diseases in children over the past two decades have increased the need for evidence-based research in school health nursing. The provision and development of the health habits that started in childhood strengthen the foundations of public health and reduces the need for second and tertiary health. The schools that meet the health needs of children and support healthy living and do this through the experienced school health nurse staff will support their students’ academic and personal achievements. According to the National Association of School Nursing (NASN), one of the professional standards in school health nursing is evidence-based practice and research. A number of qualifications based on professional standards have been defined to ensure that these standards are met. These qualifications are provided by the National Association of School Nursing (NASN); to use the evidence-based nursing knowledge together with the findings of the research, to update the school nursing practices by adding new evidence, to take active role in the development of evidence-based practices from research activities in accordance with its position and education level, to collect data, to identify special clinical problems, to take part in the analysis and interpretation of research. . All school health nurses are responsible for advancing evidence-based practices. There are special strategies that nurses need to take care of regardless of their educational backgrounds, research situations, and institutional support situations. These include: following current literature, using electronic health records and standard terminology, creating evidence-based and up-to-date school health policies and guidelines, sharing evidence on school health practices and participating in a research team.
