Yayın Awareness of polish women about the benefits of childbirth in water(Maltepe Üniversitesi, 2019) Krzeminska, Monika; Pilewski, Dawid; Trafas, Sara BlankaADMISSION. The history of births is fascinating because of its global reach. Thanks to the archaeologists’ discoveries of the great ancient civilizations - Egyptian, Chinese, Greek or Persian, there is evidence that the births in the water were practiced. Childbirth in water is an alternative to completing pregnancy in an aquatic environment, where the temperature is close to the warmth of the human body. Now, in many countries childbirth in the water is popular, but Polish women are skeptical about this method of finishing pregnancy. AIM. The aim of our work is to assess the level of knowledge of Polish women and their opinions on the benefits of giving birth in water. Methodology and materials. The work involved the use of the diagnostic survey method, the questionnaire technique. The study was conducted among 540 women in the period from October 2018 to January 2019. The respondents agreed and willing to participate in the research and were informed about the anonymity of the study. CONCLUSIONS. All respondents didn’t spent childbirth in water. Many of our respondents have heard about benefits such as pain relief with water. Most responded that they would not have decided to delivery in water, because they fear complications arose in a child. It is worth noting that the surveyed women do not have information about the safety and conditions predisposing to delivery in the water, and those who have this knowledge derived it from unreliable sources such as the Internet or television. The fact, that pregnant women do not decide to chilbirth in water, medical staff in Poland do not feel the need to focus in this specialization. However, the use of water immersion as a method of alleviating pain in the first part of delivery is very popular in Poland.Yayın A large percentage of cesarean cuts in Poland - snowball effect - a problem of bad womens opinions(Maltepe Üniversitesi, 2019) Trafas, Sara Blanka; Pilewski, Dawid; Krzeminska, MonikaADMISSION. Excessive Caesarean section cuts in Polish society are a significant medical problem in the field of perinatal care. Currently, the number of cesarean sections is constantly growing. This is supported by diagnostic methods resulting in the extension of indications for caesarean section, as well as the attitude of patients, which at the turn of many years has changed into a more demanding one. AIM. The aim of the study is to draw the attention to women’s opinions on Caesarean section as the best method to complete delivery and to demonstrate the occurrence of a disturbing upward trend in cesarean cuts in Poland. Material and methods. The method of the diagnostic survey was used in the work. The research technique was questionnaire of our own construction. The research was conducted among women in the period from October 2018 to January 2019. The study involved a total of 620 women in different age groups. The tables and graphs were constructed on the basis of the results with the inclusion of statistical data on cesarean sections performed by local hospitals. The subjects tested agreed and willing to participate in the research and were informed about the anonymity of the study. CONCLUSIONS. Most of the respondents think that a cesarean section can be made in Poland on demand. Most women think that Caesarean section is safer than childbirth with the forces of nature. Women decide about the choice of Caesarean section as the way to finish their pregnancy, most of them motivate concern for the child’s condition, fear of labor pain and the risk of damage to the tissues of the perineum and vagina. Many of our respondents claim that physiological delivery negatively affects their self-esteem and mental state, and can affect the quality of sexual intercourse.
