The presence of foreing wifes in Turkey has been known since Ottoman Empire. Some of the foreign brides could adapt themselves to a certain extent to the Turkish way of life, while the others were not able to cope with the new life style. This second group either had to return to their own countries or live in frustration all through their lives in Turkey. In this study our aim is to approach their problems, try to see their main difficulties and coping ways, and then find some solutions to their adaptation and integration to the Turkish way of life. Subjects are 54 brides of foreign birth, married to Turkish citizens and living in Turkey for a period of 6 month to 40 years. The great majority of the subjects were recruited among members of foreign women associations existing in Istanbul. A survey with large amount of questions (167) were given to the subjects to be answered. The survey, was conducted in English. This can be refered to an "elite" group of the Turkish Society. At the and of research. very interesting result were obtained.
