While these venues within the identity of the city bear deep connotations regarding the city, urbanity, and the societal, they are also places that become the scene for the city’s daily life and where the city’s pulse is. The formation of urban spaces, spatial representations in the city, the distribution of the societal on space, and etc. do actually reveal the spatial and psycho-social parameters. Dining places in this sense, do not only belong to the city with their physical appearances but also they carry great importance as being places that allow the city, urbanity, sociality, the public, daily life, and modernity to represent themselves in different ways. In this paper, with the rhetoric of space, a descriptive point of view is being applied over a specific type of space to the processes of the societal background carried by the city and the identity construction based on this.Toplumsal kültürün en yaygın ortak paylaşım olgularından biri olan yemek kültürü ve mekânları çoklu sosyal görüngülere sahiptirler. Kentin kimliği içersinde bu mekânlar, kente, kentliliğe ve toplumsal olana dair derin çağrışımlar taşırken, kentin gündelik yaşamına sahne olan, kentin nabzının attığı yerlerdir. Kentsel mekânların oluşumu, kentteki mekânsal temsiller, toplumsalın mekân üzerindeki dağılımı vs. gerçekte, mekân ile psiko-sosyal parametrelerini de açığa vurur. Yemek yeme mekanları bu açıdan, sadece fiziki görünümleriyle kente ait değildirler, aynı zamanda kentin, kentliliğin, toplumsallığın, kamusal olanın, gündelik hayatın ve modernliğin kendisini farklı şekillerde temsiline imkân tanıyan yerler olarak da büyük önem taşırlar.
