Hastalığın progresyonunu engellemek amacıyla hastalığı modifiye edici ilaçlar kullanılmaktadır. Bu grup ilaçlar içinde, öncelikli ilk tercih ilaç metotreksattır (MTX). Bu yazıda, RA tanısı ile MTX tedavisi başlanıp, yüksek doz MTX alan, bunun sonucunda stomatit ve pansitopeni gelişen olgu sunulmak istenirken, ilacı düzenli ve uygun şekilde alamayacak, aynı zamanda da düzenli takiplere gelemeyecek hastalarda MTX yerine farklı modifiye edici ajanlar tercih edilmesi gerekliliği vurgulanmak istenmiştir.Rheumatoid arthritis is a chronic idiopathic progressive autoimmune systemic inflammatory disease characterized by destructive effects of synovial cell proliferation and inflammation on the joints. In order to prevent its progression, disease modifying drugs are used. Among these, Methotrexate (MTX) is the drug of choice.
