Scapulothoracic arthrodesis had less frequently been a salvage option in congenital scapular deformities or for treating patients with other paralyzed shoulder girdle muscles in addition to serratus anterior. Technical difficulties and postoperative complications are the main drawbacks. A modified method of scapulothoracic arthrodesis using a spinal rod and a pedicle screw construct is described. The main advantage is to obtain rigid fixation, enabling early motion. © 2005 Lippincott Williams & Wilkins.eninfo:eu-repo/semantics/closedAccessScapulothoracic arthrodesis with a spinal rod and pedicle screw constructReview1593Q41556
