The study was conducted at the chemotherapy unit of a public hospital located in Istanbul between November 2017 and September 2018. No sampling method was used for the study and 248 female subjects who met the inclusion criteria and agreed to participate in the study were included. The study data were collected by way of face-to-face interviews using a Patient Description Form and the Symptom-Management Self-Efficacy Scale Related to Chemotherapy in Breast Cancer. Language, content and construct validity and reliability analyses were used to assess the validity and reliability of the scale. The language validity of the Symptom-Management Self-Efficacy Scale Related to Chemotherapy in Breast Cancer was analyzed using the translation and back-translation method and its content validity was verified through expert views. The scale was presented to 12 experts for their views on its content validity. After assessing the content validity using the Davis technique together with expert views, the CVI value of the items of the Symptom-Management Self-Efficacy Scale Related to Chemotherapy in Breast Cancer was found to be 0.912. Scale factor value changed between 0.30-0.80. Just as the original version it was evaluated as three lower dimensional by factor analysis . As a result of the internal consistency analysis of the scale, the total item score correlations were found to be sufficient and its Cronbach alpha coefficient to be 0.905.
