These investigations have two aspects: firstly, in the already formed families and secondly, in the forthcoming families. The great social changes. the technical progress, the emancipation of women. etc., strengthen the self-dependence and the independence of young people in their judgments. ln the parent-child relations the power of the parents is not as strong as it has been some decades ago. Nowadays young generation is more under the influence of the social environment including friends, teachers and classmates, mass-media. etc...Ailenin gelişimine eşlik eden problemler sıklıkla pedagogların dikkatini çekmiştir ve bazı bilimsel araştırmalar için sebep olmuştur. Bu araştırmaların iki boyutu vardır: Bunlardan birincisi yeni kurulmuş ailelerdir ve ikincisi ise kurulmak üzere olan ailelerdir, Büyük sosyal değişimler, teknik gelişmeler, kadınların özgürleşmesi vs. yeni neslin öz savunmasını ve bağımsızlığını güçlendirmiştir, Ebeveyn çocuk ilişkilerinde ebeveynin gücü on yıllar öncesindeki kadar güçlü değildir. Bugünlerde yeni nesil; arkadaşlar, öğretmenler, sınıf arkadaşları ve kitle iletişim araçları gibi sosyal çevrenin daha fazla etkisi altındadır. Ebeveynin güç sınırlılığı aşikardır. Bu unsur yeni neslin sosyalleşmesinde öğretmenlerin rolünu arttırmaktadır ve çağdaş ailenin görüntüsünü açıklar.
