Green Business studies in hotel industry

Abstract

Our country signed the Kyoto Protocol, which came into force on 16 February 2005. The utmost attention is given to environmental issues. The relevant institutions are implementing sanctions and incentive projects on enterprises, institutions and organizations operating in their respective fields. In this direction, Facilities having Tourism Operation Certificate, when they meet the criteria required, from the Ministry of Culture and Tourism that they can get “Green Star Certificate“. The conditions of getting Green Star Certificate in our article, the necessary documents, the required qualifications, scoring criteria and the benefits of green tourism to the enterprises are mentioned and the importance of these practices in terms of sustainable tourism is emphasized.

16 şubat 2005’te yürürlüğe giren Kyoto protokolüne Ülkemiz imza atmıştır ve çevre konularına azami dikkat gösterilmektedir. Bu konuyla ilgili olan kurumlar, kendi görev alanlarında faaliyet gösteren işletme, kurum ve kuruluşlar üzerinde yaptırımlar ve teşvik projeleri uygulamaktadır. Bu doğrultuda, Turizm İşletme Belgesi'ne sahip olan tesisler, gerekli kriterleri sağladıkları zaman, Kültür ve Turizm Bakanlığı’ndan “Yeşil Yıldız Belgesi” alabilmektedirler. Yazımızda Yeşil Yıldız Belgesi alabilme koşulları, gerekli belgeler, aranan nitelikler, puanlama kriterleri ve yeşil turizmin işletmelere sağladığı yararlardan bahsedilmekte ve bu uygulamaların Sürdürülebilir turizm açısından önemi vurgulanmaktadır.
