    The image of the 'indignados'. A look at the symbolic representation of the protests of 2011 from the photographs and images of the Colombian press

    This presentation presents a semiotac analysis of the photographs that accompanied the news about the manifestations, riots and social movements during the 2011 in the Colombian newspapers El Tiempo and El Espectador. The aim is to discover if the cultural codes are repeated from one country to another: which approach was chosen for the media which symbolic signs may have the posters, gestures and elements present in the photographs and which was the predominant discourse in each media to cover this global phenomena.
