People who have cancer need medical, social and psychological treatment and rehabilitation. It is important to work with a multidisciplinary team understanding in such a way as to be at the center of the patient in this process and support the patient and the family with a holistic approach. In the multidisciplinary team, there is doctor, nurse, psychologist, dietician, pharmacist, physiotherapist, social worker, religious commissary. As the members of the general health team, nurses should fulfill their role and responsibility in accordance with their area of specialization and are required to work within the multidisciplinary team approach in order to manage the affective anal proper care as the specialized nurses in different branches, such as oncology nurses, psychiatric nurses, internal nurses, gynecology nurses. Despite the improvement in management, acute pain that is not improving in hospital patients is still common. It is unlikely that effective pain management will occur without consistent and timely assessments. Many measures are used to assess pain in hospitals In this review, the emphasis is placed on the importance of pain management in the patient and the roles and responsibilities of nurses in assessing and managing pain. METHOD; The literature review was conducted using the keywords of nursing care. Pain management and evidence-based practices in managing pain in existing databases. Among the articles obtained were articles that revealed data on nursing care provided to the individual with pain, and studies on the care of the individual with nursing methods were examined in the care of the pain patient. RESULTS; When the literature is examined, it is seen that most medical and surgical treatment has many negative effects on the individual. In addition to the physiological findings such as insomnia, lack of appetite and fatigue, psychosocial problems occur in the form of anger, activity level changes, fears and worries. In this context, it is emphasized that taking into account the specific characteristics of each individual, care applications for pain relief should be developed. CONCLUSION; As seen in the literature in general, current assessment and treatment practices in pain management are highly variable. Nurses have an active role in dealing with pain and facilitating individual adjustment of treatment In nursing education and clinical applications, it is considered important for nursing students to gain the necessary equipment in this subject and to teach the importance of the subject.
