    The large number ol refugees, both legal and illegal constitutes a huge burden on a country's health care system's resources. The current migrant waves and associated humanirtarian crisis due to turbulent events in the Middle East and beyond have proven that disease and suffering do not 'recognize' national or other borders. lt has now become an urgent priority to devise and promote a long term plan for strengthening national health care systems where migrants are congragating. This way European countries should be able to tackle public health threats such as ommunicable diseases most of which have been long eradicated in Europe. ln the short term. European health care ınfrastructures should focus on facilating basic direct health care and prevention. making it readily available to all, while respecting religion social perceptions and individual rights.

    Mental health care for refugees in their crossing through Greece

    The work for this paper was carried out within the context of the contemporary wave of refugees but also by personal contact and experience via participating in a voluntary student group at the 6reek border at ldomeni where a camp was set for relugees waiting to move on to northern Europe. The aim of this paper is to present, data and personal experience of lhe organizational structures and mental health care services to vulnerable migrant groups. Thus, this paper examines health services provided to refugees who arrive en mass in Greece on their way to Europe, having suffered the violence of war, civiI unrrest, discrimination. displacement and being away from their native country while often and shouldering social exclusion or uncertainty by the host country environments.

    "Support" is a new non-formal, voluntary charity whose core mission and underlying philosophy is to support people in need via social exchange activities. lts unique key feature is that it does not accept financial contributions. donations of money and members have no monthly dues so there is no treasury or VAT. ln this respect it is a non-financial organization rather an non-government organization. The member volunteers of the team come from different backgrounds. Usually they are students. unemployed people or employees who have or can make some spare time for such tasks.
