Yayın E-government as a tech platform for innovative society(Maltepe Üniversitesi, 2016) Dorokhov, Mykhalio; Laponin, ArneAccording to the general definition, e-Government is the use of information and communication technologies (lCTs) to improve the activities of public sector organizations. lt's aimed to provide and facilitate access to public services and make the bureaucratic processes more transparent and to identify themselves digitally. Good infrastructure and access to lnternet is a firm ground for the further development. Effective use of e-Government solutions will Iead to a so-called "paperless society" in which all of the interactions between citizens. private sector and the government are done electronically. Paper|ess society allows to quickly build even more advanced e-Government services and it allows entrepreneurs to focus on what they are passionate about - making new products and creating jobs, on which the society depends on, without the hassle of bureaucracy. Once the society has become paperless thanks to e-Government solutions, it is time to open up the solutions to the rest of the world. One of the best examples is Estonia, which has introduced e-residency program. E-residency of Estonia provides a secure digital identity in order to use Estonian electronic solutions. With this identity. one is able to identify himself in publjc services and give digital signatures. lt is the next logical step for al| the entrepreneurs who want to have a EU company or branch. lt provides a possibility to enter the European market without additional costs connected to the physical presence. Process of creating a legal entity in Estonia is surprisingly easy and smooth; it is done from the lnternet and can take less than 20 minutes. All together with transparent tax system it makes the business environment as friendly as possible. This example is something that should be shared with all the developed and developing countries.
