    An investigation of social barriers faced by young entrepreneurs in Pakistan

    The major aim of this research was to spotlight the barriers stumble upon the entrepreneur specifically the young ones who have ambitious plans and high spirits in the beginning. This research was based upon the results of research project which documented the aspirations of entrepreneurs, and assumption was that young less experienced entrepreneurs are facing more social resistance rather than the experienced ones. Snowball sampling technique was used to locate the appropriate respondents keeping in view the pre set criteria i.e. entrepreneur aged between 24 and 30 years. Data was collected by using research inventory and researcher visited the volunteer respondents to get the insight of their hardships and difficulties. The data was analyzed and simple frequency of barriers faced by the young entrepreneurs was calculated and barriers were arranged in descending order and later were classified in categories i.e. family related, client re|ated, stakeholders related and environment related barriers. The biggest barrier identified was the tolerance of the market and experienced people already working in the field. The other barriers were communication gaps, ethical attitude, resistance to accept change, difficulty to build credibility, lack of social networking and moral support. The growth of entrepreneurship depends on supportive social environment. Barriers to entrepreneurs are discouraging the augmentation of entrepreneurship therefore it was suggested that official social websites and networking be initiated to provide the advisory and consultation services to young entrepreneurs to encounter with the social barriers.
