    Over the past three days, we have been treated to a pastiche -we have treated ourselves to a pastiche- of approaches to our central theme, which was in a sense two related themes: the themes of identity and of human rights. To İoanna Kuçuradi, the relationship between the two is ultimately oppositional: that is, to the extent to which one insists on the primacy of cultural identity, at least, one is jeopardizing the universalist claim of human rights. But l leave it to her to complete the review of our conference and, if she chooses, to return to that theme.
