Özet
Bir insan başarısı olarak dünyayla olan her türlü ilişkimizi kuran ve bu ilişkiyi köklü bir biçimde değiştiren, bir bakıma dünyadaki yerimizi belirleyen “bilgi”nin toplum tarafından ama özellikle de devlet tarafından desteklenmesi son derece önemlidir. Kurumsallaşan yapıların, destek verilen insan başarılarının ancak ayakta kaldığını, varlığını sürdürdüğünü, bilgi tarihinin yürüyüş yollarını izleyenler çok iyi bilirler. Aslında her şey, her türlü insan başarısı kalkış noktası bakımından bireysel temellidir; ancak aile, toplum ve ardından da kamu tarafından, daha açık bir anlatımla devlet tarafından desteklenen insan başarıları daha uzun ömürlü olma, gelişme, serpilme şansını yakalayabilirler. Bu başarılar desteklenmelidirler ki arlıklarını sürdürebilsinler; sık sık dile getirdiğimiz gibi, tüm kültür ögeleri kırılgandır, bakım ve özen isterler.
"Knowledge, as a human achievement, forms every kind of relationship we have with the world, radically transforms these relationships, and marks our place on this earth, and it must be supported by society and especially the state. Those who trace back the journey that the history of knowledge embarked on very well know that only the institutionalized organizations and supported individuals stand the test of time. Every success story is individual, by its genesis. However, they have the chance to live long and prosper and flourish, if only they are supported by family and the society first, and then by the public, or by the state to be more precise. These accomplishments must be supported to survive; as we frequently express, all components of culture are vulnerable and fragile, requiring nurture and care.
