dc.description.abstractSustainability of working life and reaching the future by providing a decent work environment is one of the important topics of discussion. Sustainability has economic, ecological and social components. The concepts of continuity and sustainability also represent different perspectives. While continuity offers a shorter-term perspective, sustainability requires a long-term perspective. Since the most important feature of sustainability is to continue activities without consuming (destroying) resources, the first resource that should not be consumed is employees. Ensuring and developing working within the health and safety that is the right of the employees is considered as the sustainability of occupational health and safety (OHS). While the sustainability of OHS in iron and steel enterprises is presented together with the conceptualization of safety culture, on the other hand, the level of OHS in the sustainability studies carried out in iron and steel enterprises operating in Turkey has been investigated by examining the sustainability reports of the companies. Accordingly, it has been determined that two of the eleven largest organizations of the sector in terms of tonnage capacity do not publish reports, four of them publish short information on their websites, and OHS parameters are included in the sustainability reports of five organizations.en_US
dc.description.abstractÇalışma yaşamının sürdürülebilirliği, insana yakışır iş ortamının sağlanarak geleceğe ulaşmak önemli tartışma konularından biridir. Sürdürülebilirliğin ekonomik, ekolojik ve sosyal bileşenleri bulunmaktadır. Süreklilik ve sürdürülebilirlik kavramları da birbirinden farklı bakış açılarını temsil eder. Süreklilik daha kısa vadeli bir bakış açısı sunarken, sürdürülebilirlik uzun vadeli bir bakış açısını gerektirir. Sürdürülebilirliğin en önemli özelliği, kaynakları tüketmeden (yok etmeden) faaliyetlere devam edebilmek olduğuna göre, tüketilmemesi gereken kaynakların ilki çalışanlardır. Çalışanların hakkı olan sağlık ve güvenlik içinde çalışmanın sağlanması ve geliştirilmesi sağlık ve güvenliğin (İSG) sürdürülebilirliği olarak ele alınmaktadır. Bildiride demir çelik işletmelerinde İSG sürdürülebilirliği güvenlik kültürü kavramsallaştırmasıyla birlikte sunulurken diğer yandan Türkiye’de faaliyet gösteren demir çelik işletmelerinde yürütülen sürdürülebilirlik çalışmalarında İSG’nin ne düzeyde yer aldığı şirketlerin sürdürülebilirlik raporları incelenerek araştırılmıştır. Buna göre sektörün tonaj kapasitesi bakımında en büyük on bir kuruluşunun ikisinin rapor yayınlamadığı, dördünün web sitelerinde kısa bilgi yayınladığı, beş kuruluşun sürdürülebilirlik raporlarında İSG parametrelerinin yer aldığı saptanmıştır.en_US
