Özet
Success is defined as “the fact that you have achieved something that you want and have been trying to do or get”. Even though this concept is frequently used by people, the understanding of success is still remains understudied. However, it is possible to achieve different perceptions with the aid of several motivational theories. The main objective of this study is to investigate the age-related change in the perception of success. Based on this aim, the study will be conducted with 88 volunteered participants (24 males, 64 females) whose ages ranged between 20 and 72 using the convenience sampling method. It is hypothesized that there will be age-related differences in the perception of success. For data collection, a new scale which based on different motivation theories and handled success in five dimensions was created to measure the perception of success. In addition, demographic information form will be also used through the online administration. The results showed that increase in age was related with increase in collectivism and being more tolerant about success. The findings of the study were discussed how the perception of success changes with age and which dimensions affect this change with the relevant literature to highlight.
