Özet
Birkaç yıl önce Tokyo seyahatim sırasında halkın metro başta olmak üzere birçok yerde maske taktığını görmüştüm. Grip enfeksiyonun yaygınlaştığı bir ocak ayıydı. Virüsün yayılımını engellemek için önlem aldıklarını anlayınca hayranlık duymuştum. Maskeli insan görüntüleri Hollywood filminden bir kare gibiydi. Aradan yıllar geçti. İnsanlar çok uzakta gördüğü Covid-19 ile kısa zaman dilimi içinde ne yazık ki acı bir şekilde tanıştı. Virüs etkilerini hızla ve arttırarak sürdürürken bundan en çok etkilenenlerden biri çocuklardı. Özellikle okul öncesi dönemdeki çocuklar yaşanan bu durumu anlamakta zorluk çektiler. Neden artık arkadaşlarını göremiyorlar? Neden çok sevdikleri büyük anneleri, dedelerine gelmiyor? Neden anne babaları işe gitmiyor? Neden? Neden?..
Afew years ago, while I was in Japan, I witnessed people wearing masks in many places, but especially in the subway. It was January, the flu season. I was fascinated to learn that everybody was wearing masks to slow the spread of the flu. People in masks looked like a scene from a Hollywood movie. Years went by, and people painfully encountered Covid-19, which seemed like distant trouble back in the day. As the virus started to make a more significant impact, perhaps children were among the most affected. Specifically, preschool children had a difficult time understanding the situation. Why can't they see their friends? Why can't they visit their beloved grandmas and grandpas? Why don't their parents go to their jobs? Why?
