| dc.description.abstract | Every day, the emotion and the opinion of different people across the world are displayed in the form of short messages using micro-blogging platforms. Despite the existence of enormous, potential introduced by this data source, the Twitter population is still ambiguous and not fully explored yet. While there are a large amount of studies examining the possibilities of inferring the gender and age, there hardly exists research on socioeconomic status (SES) inference of Twitter users. As SES is essential to treat diversity questions linked to human behavior in several fields (sociology, demography, public health, etc.), we conducted a comprehensive literature review of existing SES studies, inference methods, and metrics. Last, based on the literature’s results search, we outline the most critical challenges for researchers. To the best of our knowledge, our paper is the first review that introduces the different aspects of SES inference. Indeed, this article provides benefits for practitioners who aim to process and explore Twitter SES inference. | en_US |
| dc.description.abstract | Her gün, dünyadaki farklı insanların duyguları ve görüşleri, mikro blog platformları kullanılarak kısa mesajlar şeklinde gösteriliyor. Bu veri kaynağının getirdiği muazzam potansiyelin varlığına rağmen, Twitter nüfusu hala belirsizdir ve henüz tam olarak araştırılmamıştır. Cinsiyet ve yaştan çıkarım olasılığını inceleyen çok sayıda çalışma olsa da, Twitter kullanıcılarının sosyoekonomik durumu (SES) çıkarımı konusunda pek araştırma yoktur. SES, çeşitli alanlarda insan davranışına ilişkin çeşitlilik sorularını ele almak için gerekli olduğundan (sosyoloji, demografi, halk sağlığı vb.) Mevcut SES çalışmaları, çıkarım yöntemleri ve ölçümler hakkında kapsamlı bir literatür taraması yaptık. Son olarak, literatürün sonuçlarına göre, araştırmacılar için en kritik zorlukların ana hatlarını çizeriz. Bildiğimiz kadarıyla, makalemiz SES çıkarımının farklı yönlerini tanıtan ilk incelemedir. Nitekim, bu makale Twitter SES çıkarımını işlemeyi ve keşfetmeyi amaçlayan uygulayıcılara faydalar sağlamaktadır. | en_US |
