Özet
The trend toward simplifying financial transactions has led to the creation of a digital currency. Cryptocurrency is one of the varieties of digital currencies. Cryptocurrencies are rapidly expanding their influence on many areas of human life. Their use simplifies business processes and reduces the cost of making payments. The popularity of using cryptocurrencies as a means of earning money and investments is increasing. There is a constant growth in the cryptocurrency exchange rate. Thus, it is also critical to understand the disadvantages of cryptocurrency and the risks of using it. This study focuses on the specificities of using cryptocurrencies. The main differences between cryptocurrency and the national digital currency were described in this paper. The research aims to identify the main ways of using cryptocurrencies. An important part of the research on cryptocurrencies is to study their impact on the national and global economy. Compared to the national digital currencies, transactions with cryptocurrencies are carried out without intermediaries such as banks. In a global sense, this can lead to the spread of cybercrime: stealing money from an account, illegal transactions, etc. It is necessary to take into consideration all the features of working with cryptocurrencies and then their spread will lead to the growth of the global economy.
