Özet
With the latest global pandemic and the development of technology into our daily lives, the average time a person spends looking on a screen rapidly increased. Although many apps and software that limit screen time exist, it is demonstrated by many sources and scientifical data that negative reinforcement is not as efficient as positive reinforcement when breaking the habit or simply exchanging one behavior with another. In other words, reinforcing a productive habit, namely reading, can become more efficient than limiting screen time. This project aims to provide a user-friendly application for those who are in need of keeping track of their readings in addition to reinforcing reading behavior. The app can also be used by schools to develop reading habit in children and teenagers. The app is used by users where users can keep track of their readings through logging. Additionally, to amplify the reading and logging experience, users can express their opinions on books by rating and commenting. To promote reading behavior, badges are given to users based on the genre, writer, or era of the book as well as the number of books users have read and logged throughout the year.
