Özet

IP data traffic is forecast to grow 55% over the next 10 years [1]. However, fifth-generation (5G) networks do not have sufficient capacity and hardware to meet this demand. In addition, there are several drawbacks in the development of 5G that significantly limit efficiency. In the current network design, it is assumed that the wireless environment is controlled by nature, cannot be changed, and can only be compensated. However, with the 5th generation, it has been shown that working on the terminals in the wireless environment will not be sufficient. The 6th generation is intended to provide a new architectural foundation with high efficiency and low delay, enabling common communication, detection, and localization. In the old generations, the wireless environment was accepted as an uncontrollable element. One of the studies introduced with the 6th generation deals with the programming of the environment. So, it aims to overcome the interference and security problems of the external environment. This approach is also referred to as Smart Radio Environmental or Wireless 2.0 to highlight the conceptual difference between current and previous designs. The purpose of RIS is designed to implement transmission technology in wireless communications. Antennas with a spacing of half the wavelength are used. These antennas are not larger than other antennas, but they are less expensive. RIS requires much more scattering elements than other technological methods such as a phased array, multi-antenna transmitters, relays. But it is more flexible and useful because of the cost and cheaper dimensions. Moreover, it is an extensible software-based architecture that is more compatible with the SRE concept.
