dc.description.abstractThis review examines and analyses our perception of place, our relationship to particular environments, feelings of territoriality and defensiveness surrounding places and how this contrasts with the emerging global world. As the world experiences growing connectedness from technology, movement of people and transnational flows of information (Amin, 33) people are grasping onto a sense of locality and ‘home.’ I argue that rather than taking this territorial perspective of place (as discussed by Edward Relph) we should diversify our ideas of the human relationship to space, such as the relational theory proposed by Doreen Massey and developed, in light of political and economic implications, by Ash Amin. I will demonstrate how COVID-19, although confining us to certain places, restricting us to our homes and localities, has improved our global awareness and connectedness...en_US
dc.description.abstractBu çalışma, mekân algımızı, belirli çevrelerle olan ilişkimizi, bu mekânları çevreleyen bölgecilik ve savunuculuk duygularını ve bunların gelişmekte olan küresel dünya ile nasıl tezat oluşturduğunu ele almaktadır. Dünya, teknolojiden, insanların deviniminden ve uluslaraşırı bilgi akışlarından gelişen bağlanabilirliği deneyimledikçe (Amin, 33), insanlar bir lokalite ve 'ev' hissiyatına tutunmaktadır. Bu bölgeci mekânsal bakış açısından (Edward Relph tarafından tartışıldığı üzere), insan ilişkileri ve mekânla ilgili fikirlerimizi Doreen Massey tarafından öne sürülen bağıntısal teori ve Ash Amin’in politik ve ekonomik çıkarımları ışığında çeşitlendirmemiz gerektiğini savunuyorum.
