Özet
The pandemic, COVID-19 has affected the world in many ways. It created a disruption in life that led to an urgent need to change and adapt to new ways of doing things in a short period of time. Higher education like many other sector was a ected, faculty and students are still facing many challenges to get the best out of learning. The case of being a nursing student and especially in the era of covid-19 changed. Nursing is a profession that requires learning to develop human connection to be able to develop the sense of caring and compassion. Most of the higher education institutions were forced to move from teaching traditionally in classrooms to distance learning. This itself presented a challenge to the institutions, faculty and students’ challenges can be categorised into infrastructure and organizational challenges, teaching and learning challenges and personal challenges. but for most of the nursing students; the challenge was to learning patient care away from patients. This presentation will shed light into an experience of a nursing students from Oman in navigating the learning experience during the pandemic. The presentation will highlight the impact of COVID-19 on the learning process especially that in the context of nursing profession. In addition, it will discuss the challenges faced in learning the theoretical aspect, the skills and the clinical practice of nursing. eventually, it will discuss the opportunities to develop new set of skills that this experience can offer to the students in general and nursing students specifically.
