Özet
Low power wide area network technologies LPWAN networks are among the strongest candidates for machine-to-machine communication applications, thanks to their low power consumption and wide coverage. LoRa is one of the proprietary low-power wide-area network modulation technique and LPWAN physical layer (PHY) technologies. It provides variable data-range and long range by using chirp spread spectrum which defines instantaneous frequency. It aims to eliminate the coordination and resource management requirements between end devices and gateways. LoRa provides secure, low-power, low-range communication. The wireless signal can reach from long distances While short-range wireless networks such as Bluetooth, Zigbee, and Wireless Local Area Networks (WLANs) cover way too shorter. Although LoRa physical layer technology is proprietary to Semtech, it is a partially open technology as it is open for receiving devices. LoRa signals are preferred because their envelopes are stable, their phases are continuous, they are robust to narrowband interference and Doppler effect. Although the LoRa coverage area can be expanded by increasing the LoRa orthogonal signal cluster size depending on the spreading constant (SF), LoRa spectral efficiency decreases with increasing SF.
