Visual media today plays a central role in mass communication. Creating visual documents is a tool for communication among specialists in various fields of knowledge. Imaging is the ideal tool for learning to analyze social and cultural processes. The study will consider the whole wide spectrum of the functioning of visual anthropology in society: general cultural context, audiovisual information, interaction with other areas of cultural activity, and so forth, as well as the specifics of screen communication will be studied. The object of this study is a multimedia installation, the subject is visual media in installation. The role of visual media is examined on the material of multimedia installations of the end of the 20th and the beginning of the 21st century of different scales, from international exhibitions to private author projects. The research methodology is based on the synthesis of linguistic, cognitive, communicative, discursive and psychological elements with the technologies of related sciences: The results of the study can be used in scientific studies on the study of visual anthropology.
