    Automation of NDE using robotic arm in production technology / Üretim teknolojisinde tahribatsız değerlendirme otomasyonu kullanımı

    Automation is a recent process spreaded in almost all departments of manufacturing. Automation of non-destructive evaluation (NDE) of engineering components and structures represents one of the strategic objectives of many industries. It enables increases in accuracy, precision and speed of inspection while reducing production time and associated labour costs in contrast to manual inspection. The use of robotic arm can provide additional flexibility and autonomy to automated NDE. A simple Robotic Arm is build to demonstrate one of the methods of NDE, this Robotic Arm will be controlled with a micro controller named Arduino. The main components for building this automated structure are actuators and sensors. NDE is an important way of controlling products in manufacturing process, because it gives the oportunity to measure or controll the product in three cases, while the product is being processed, the final product after it is finished processing and while using the product. The main purpose of automating NDE is to controll products while they are processing, because it will minimize scrap. In this paper will be examined: • architecture of a Robotic Arm, way of building and components used • importance of NDE in the Production Technology • implementation of Robotic Arm in the NDE systems, which means starting of the automation process • demonstration of an example by using our builded Robotic Arm for one of the NDE methods.
