The findings indicate that the IBDP Maths: AA SL curriculum presents mathematics teaching in a way that integrates metacognition and metacognitive skills and supports these skills with components and assessment approaches such as Learner Profile, Theory of Knowledge, Creativity, Activity and Service, Extended Essay, Internal Assessment. However, it was observed that the MoNE Secondary Mathematics tenth-grade syllabus addresses metacognition as one of the skills to be acquired, but no concept, component, or assessment and evaluation approach to support these skills were mentioned in the document. The findings also indicate that the IBDP Mathematics: AA SL syllabus provides teachers with resources to support metacognition in terms of inquiry, critical thinking, reflection, and checking prior learning. In the MoNE Secondary Mathematics tenth-grade syllabus, there is no resource or instruction for teachers in this context.
