ln various countries, notwithstanding Turkey, the civil society has gone through dynamic changes; most recently due to the influx of Syrian refugees from 2011 onwards (Kirişci,20l4). While having new members in the civil society allow for greater ethnic heterogeneity and thus greater cultural diversity: there is evidence to suggest that refugees have been perceived as a threat by the denizens of these countries (LCPS. 2015). Recent scholarly work has focused on how to aIleviate these threats, discussing various measures both state-driven and private-driven to ensure integration of Syrian refugees (Betts and Collier, 2015)...
