Yayın Knowledge and personal view of students about risk factors for cardiovascular diseases(Maltepe Üniversitesi, 2019) Ibrakovic, Amina; Ljevakovic, Amar; Hadzic, Adi; Mujezinovic, AdnanThe research focus is to examine the knowledge and viewpoints of the students of the health care department on the risk factors for the development of cardiovascular diseases and on that basis of which to assess the level of their competences. RESPONDENTS AND METHODS: A prospective study was conducted among students of the School of Medicine in the Zenica, Health Care Department in June 2018. The study included 45 students, a random sample method. For this survey, a questionnaire form was designed to carry out this study. The following parameters were observed: gender, age, year of study and knowledge and attitudes about the risk factors for the development of cardiovascular diseases. The data obtained were classified into categories and the correlations between them were examined using the X2 test. RESULTS: In the sexual structure of nurses involved in the research, female were dominated, they were 40 of them (89%), while they were just 5 males (11%). In the answers to the question on the definition of competences, the difference was not statistically significant (p?0.05). Majority of students (80%) were attended a practical example of risk assessment for the development of cardiovascular diseases, 91% of respondents know that CVD is the first cause of mortality in the world, 42% of them can name all forms of cardiovascular disease (CVD), confirmed statistical significance (p>0,05). More than 73% of students know the variable risk factors for the occurrence of CVD (p>0.05). CONCLUSIONS: Students of the Health Care Department have a certain level of competence in assessing the risk factors for the development of cardiovascular diseases (CVD), especially students of the higher years of studies. Most of them know how to assess risk factors and know the reference values of the findings (high level of cholesterol; HDL, LDL, BMI, blood glucose). A smaller number of students know the limit values of hypertension according to new guidelines. Students have a satisfactory level of knowledge about changing risk factors and the vast majority of them have, on a practical example, assessed risk factors during practical lessons.Yayın Tools for measurement of competencies in palliative care(Maltepe Üniversitesi, 2019) Oruc, Mirza; Mujezinovic, Adnan; Richart, Miguel; Cabanero, Maria JoseAccording to the WHO, cancer is one of the leading causes of morbidity and mortality in the world. In 2012 there were 14 million new cases worldwide. A number of new cases are expected to rise in the future. An increasing number of cases demanding a new approach from health care systems regarding staff education, hospital equipment and interprofessional cooperation in order to give full service to the customers (patients). For several years palliative care education is a top priority in the education of nurses due to the fact that there are serious deficiencies in that area (Komaromy et al. 2000, Miller et al. 2004, Goodridge et al. 2005, Hasson et al. 2008). Development of competencies is one of the key issues in contemporary education and can be achieved with the development of proper curriculum and education schedule, especially the development of a proper instrument for measurement of competencies. This research has identified the most important 10 competencies in accordance with WHITE paper for EAPC and WHO. GENERAL OBJECTIVE: This research has one general objective and it is an evaluation of instruments used in Palliative care measurement. Methodology: The methodology comprises research, cross – section, analytical method of research. Actions taken in this process were a literature review, analysis of data available curricula of nursing schools, literature research, review of instruments for measurement of competencies in palliative care nursing. RESULTS: Results are presented as a review of most useable instruments in the measurement of competencies in Palliative care nursing. There is proof that various instruments measure various parameters but very few of them is measuring competence. CONCLUSION: Need for measurement of competencies is expressed in the daily development of palliative care, community palliative care, hospice care, and subspecialty palliative care. Need for the appropriate instrument for measuring competencies in palliative care nursing leads us to this instrument following the most economical and reasonable way of developing.
