This study investigates the relationship between the self-esteem and learned helplessness of women who have been exposed to violence, and their levels of learned resourcefulness and coping with stress. The study was conducted quantitatively, and the data collection process was carried out electronically or face-to-face. There were 320 participants of the study between the ages of 21 and 60 who were exposed to violence. Demographic Information Form, Rosenberg Self-Esteem Scale, Learned Resourcefulness, Learned Helplessness, and Stress Coping Scales were administered to the participants. The scores obtained from the scales were analyzed with the SPSS 25 program. In the first stage of the analysis process, reliability analysis was applied to the data obtained from the scale and skewness and kurtosis values were examined in order to determine the normal distribution. While the Independent Samples T test was used to compare the data according to demographic variables with two categories, One Way ANOVA analysis was used to compare the scale scores according to demographic variables with more than two categories. Tukey was used as a post-hoc test to determine the differences between the groups in One Way ANOVA analysis. While Pearson Correlation analysis was used to examine the relationships between scale scores, simple and multiple linear regression analyses were used to examine the inter-scale effects. The study revealed that 28.7% of the participants who were victims of violence were 31-35 years old, 81.3% was married, 38.4% were graduates of secondary school, 42.7% married at the age of 20-22, 55.3% was living in a district and 71.3% were not working. When the relationship between self-esteem and learned resourcefulness of the women that participated in this study was examined, it was determined that there were positive significant relationships between self-esteem and learned resourcefulness sub-dimensions (p<0.05). Also, the study examined the relationship between participants’ self-esteem and strategies of coping with stress and it was found that there were positive significant relationships between self-esteem and seeking social support, self-confident approach and optimistic approach (p<0.05). When the relationship between participants’ self-esteem and strategies of coping with stress was examined, it was discovered that there were positive significant relationships between the level of hopelessness and helplessness and the learned resourcefulness sub-dimensions (p<0.05). Lastly, when the relationship between participants’ the hopelessness and learned helplessness levels and their styles of coping with stress was examined, it was observed that there were significant relationships between the variables (p<0.05).
