In this paper, we study the interaction between a single trapped ion with a laser field. The concept of quantum Fisher information (QFI) in terms of the atomic density operator is introduced. This quantity is used as a best estimation of entanglement compared with classical Fisher information (CFI) and von Neumann entropy of a single qubit system. We demonstrate connections between these measures. The results show the important roles played by the fluctuations of the laser phase and initial state setting in the evolution of the quantum and classical Fisher information.en_US
