Özet
Bu araştırmanın amacı, fen ve teknoloji dersinde aktif öğrenme etkinliklerinin öğrencilerin başarılarına ve kalıcılık düzeylerine olan etkisini ortaya koymaktır. Araştırma, deneysel bir çalışmadır. Deney grubunda “Canlılar Dünyasını Tanıyalım ve Görelim” ünitesi ile ilgili araştırmacı tarafından hazırlanan aktif öğrenme temelli fen ve teknoloji etkinlikleri, kontrol grubunda ise Milli Eğitim Bakanlığı Fen ve Teknoloji öğretim programındaki etkinlikler uygulanmıştır. Ayrıca deney grubunda sınıf ortamı ve araç-gereçler aktif öğrenme ilkelerine uygun hale getirilirken, kontrol grubunda herhangi bir müdahale de bulunulmamıştır. Deney ve kontrol grupları 2012 – 2013 öğretim yılında İstanbul il merkezinde yer alan bir devlet ortaokulunun birinci sınıf şubelerinden seçilmiştir. Deney ve kontrol gruplarına araştırmacı tarafından hazırlanan fen ve teknoloji başarı testi uygulanmıştır. Elde edilen veriler, bağımsız gruplarda "t" testi ve tek faktörlü ANCOVA testi ile analiz edilmiştir. Araştırmada, aktif öğrenme yaklaşımının uygulandığı deney grubunun, fen ve teknoloji son test puanlarının aritmetik ortalaması Milli Eğitim Bakanlığı (MEB) programının uygulandığı kontrol grubunun fen ve teknoloji başarı puanlarından anlamlı düzeyde daha yüksek olduğu sonucuna ulaşılmıştır. Gruplar arası başarı kalıcılık puanları arasında ise anlamlı bir fark bulunmamıştır.
This study aims to examine the influence of the Active Learning-based activities in Science and Technology on the success and the permanency of the learning levels of the students. The Experimental Method has been used in the study. Active learning activities which are prepared by researchers are used in curriculum experimental group and curriculum of Ministry of Education Science and Technology activities are used in control group, the study was conducted in 2012-2013 Academic year on the students who attended a middle school in Istanbul. The achievement of Science and Technology test which prepared by researchers was applied on the control and experimental group. The data in the study were analyzed with independent t – test and ANCOVA test. According to the results of the study, it is found out that the Active Learning Approach has a positive influence on the success rates of the students. there are no significant differences between the groups where the Active Learning-based activities and the Ministry of National Education Science and Technology Program’s (2005) activities were applied in terms of permanency of learning.
