dc.description.abstractThe development of the Arab spring initiated a discourse in international media and scientific worid regarding possibility of similar occurrence in Pakistan. Some studies suggested that Pakistan is at the brink of an Arab style revolution given few similar features such as discontent on the present democratic government, economic situation, continuous state of war in the country and growth of internet and telecommunication. However many studies rejected this possibility stating the reasons such as low internet penetration rates, ethnic divide, corruption. ln this study l argue that the arguments framed for both judgments are flawed given the fact that Pakistan and Arab Spring countries are structurally different. Unlike most of the Arab Spring countries, Pakistan has a democratic government, a free media, a free judiciary and a strong army. These features make Pakistan a more suitable country for peaceful movements then bloody revolutions...en_US
