Determination of nursing students’; attitudes towards evidence-based nursing

dc.description.abstractAIM: This study was conducted to determine the attitudes of nursing students towards evidencebased nursing. MATERIAL AND METHOD: The cross-sectional and descriptive study was carried out at the School of Nursing of a university in the fall semester of the 2018-2019 academic year. The population of the study consisted of nursing students in grades 3 and 4 and the sample consisted of 158 students who were willing to participate in the study. The data were collected by using the questionnaire formed by the researchers and Attitude Scale for Evidence-Based Nursing “. In the analysis of the data, number, percentage, mean, standard deviation, Mann Whitney U test, and Kruskal Wallis H test was used. FINDINGS: Of the students, 75.9% were girls and 69.2% of them graduated from Anatolian high schools, 39.9% of the grade point average is 2.5- 3.0 and 59.5% of them were in the third year. In the study, 96.2% of the students took research courses, 91.1% did not subscribe to a journal related to nursing, 61.4% did not participate in scientific congresses, symposia, and courses related to nursing, 40.5% of the students applied to clinical practice twice a week, 45.2% did not participate in scientific research, 39.2% did not want to conduct scientific research after graduation, 79.7% stated that scientific research results were not used in the clinical setting. According to the status of taking a research course and follow-up of the scientific articles, it was determined that the average of the scores varied. CONCLUSION: It was found that the scores of the students’ attitude scale for evidence-based nursing were at a moderate level.en_US
dc.description.abstractAMAÇ: Çalışma hemşirelik öğrencilerinin kanıta dayalı hemşireliğe yönelik tutumlarının belirlenmesi amacıyla yapıldı. GEREÇ VE YÖNTEM: Kesitsel ve tanımlayıcı tipteki çalışma, bir üniversitenin Hemşirelik Yüksekokul’unda 2018-2019 akademik yılı güz döneminde gerçekleştirildi. Araştırmanın evreninin 3 ve 4. sınıf hemşirelik bölümü öğrencileri, örneklemini ise çalışmaya katılmaya istekli olan 158 öğrenci oluşturdu. Veriler; araştırmacılar tarafından oluşturulan anket formu ve “Kanıta Dayalı Hemşireliğe Yönelik Tutum Ölçeği (KDHYTÖ)” kullanılarak toplandı ve verilerin analizinde sayı, yüzde, ortalama, standart sapma, Mann Whitney U testi ve Kruskall Wallis H testi kullanılmıştır. BULGULAR: Öğrencilerin %75,9’u kız, %69,2’si anadolu lisesi mezunu iken, %39,9’unun not ortalaması 2.5-3.0 arasındadır ve %59,5’si üçüncü sınıfa devam etmektedir. Çalışmada öğrencilerin %96,2’si araştırma dersi aldığı, %91,1’nin hemşirelik mesleğiyle ilgili bir dergiye abone olmadığı, %61,4 hemşirelik ile ilgili bilimsel kongrelere, sempozyumlara ve kurslara katılmadığı, öğrencilerin %40,5‘nin haftada iki kez klinik uygulamaya çıktığı, %45,2’si bilimsel araştırmaya katılmadığı, %39,2’si mezun olduktan sonra meslekle ilgili bilimsel araştırma yapmayı istemediği, %79,7’si bilimsel araştırma sonuçlarının klinik ortamda kullanılmadığını düşündüklerini belirtmiştir. Araştırma dersi alma durumu ve bilimsel makale takip etme durumuna göre puan ortalamalarının farklılaştığı belirlendi. SONUÇ: Hemşirelik öğrencilerinin KDHYT puanının orta düzeyde olduğu bulunmuştur.en_US
