dc.description.abstractBu çalışmada; öncelikli olarak mozaik sanatının ortaya çıkış dönemlerinden itibaren geçirdiği tarihsel gelişim özellikle Antik Yunan, Roma ve Bizans dönemleri ağırlıklı olarak aktarılacak, bu dönemlerde gerçekleştirilen stil farklılıkları göz önüne alınarak gelişimin ulaştığı nokta verilmeye çalışılacaktır. Farklı yapım teknikleri nedeniyle değişik isimlerle adlandırılan mozaiklerin (Opus Sectile, Opus Musivum), eşyanın yapısı gereği bozulması nedeniyle, bozulma nedenleri üzerinde durulacak, bu bölüm özellikle mozaiklerin korunması için alınması gereken önlemler için aydınlatıcı bir nitelik taşıyacaktır. Son olarak ise, Mozaiklerin Korunması ve Restorasyonu kavramı mozaiklerin uğradığı tahribatın içeriği ve boyutlarına göre aktarılacak, bu bağlamda İstanbul'da Ayasofya Müzesi’ne bağlı olan ve Mozaik Müzesi olarak bilinen, Bizans Dönemi asıyla Büyük Saray Mozaiklerinin bulunduğu yapı ile birlikte gerçekleştirilen restorasyon aşamaları irdelenmeye çalışılacaktır. en_US
dc.description.abstractIn this work priority will be given to the historical development of mosaic art since its first appearance, specifically details will be given in ancient Greece, Roman and Byzantine periods. Having them both thoroughly examined the point where the above mentioned development will be pointed out within the basis of style differences in these periods. Given different names (Opus Sectile, Opus Musivum) due to mosaics’ distinctive production techniques and on the basis of objects’ tendency to corrupt in nature, mosaics corruption reasons will be mentioned, and this section will be particularly enlightening in determining the precautions of mosaics’ protection. Finally the concept of “Mosaic Conservation and Restoration” will be examined regarding the size and content of the damage mosaics had and restoration stages carried out in both the building itself known as Mosaic Museum a part of Istanbul Hagia Sophia Museum and the mosaics inside “Byzantine period Great Palace Mosaics” will be inspected.en_US
