dc.description.abstractThe purpose of this study- by introducing Purdue 3- stage model which is used in training of gifted students- was to design example activity about ”Informed Consumer Arithmetic” lesson at 7 th grade non -gifted students in our country and to investigate the effects of this activity to the mathematics achievement of these students. The universe of the study was formed of the students who studied at 7 th grade in Primary schools in Fatih district of ?Istanbul and the sample of the study formed of 22 students who were in 7-B and 7-C classes in a Primary School in Fatih district. In this study, we used pre-final test model with a control group. The study has been made by researcher for 8 weeks. The lesson has been made by using the activity based on Purdue model on the experimental group and by using the activities related to the lesson in National Education Curriculum on the control group. After being applied the pre-test to two classes, the data obtained were analyzed by using appropriate tests, there was seen that there wasn’t a significant difference between the averages of two groups and by random testing groups was determined as ” control” and ”experimental”. The final test was the same with pre-test. The pre-final tests belong to experimental and control group were analyzed by using t-test. As a result, which way is the best has been discussed.en_US
