Özet

The purpose of this paper is to investigate the effects of the lslamic revolution on feminist art in lran. by examining how politics can affect both society and art. ln the l970s feminist themes started to change into the second wave of feminism, exemplified by an open struggle with cultural and social inequalities. Without a doubt this movement had an effect on people in lran, an effect all the more obvious and tangible after the lslamic revolution of lran [1979]. In this period, government and law changed to Sharia law; accordingly, a new form of law was legislated for women and a new generation of difficulties for women had begun, The female perspective on matters was rejected, and all the rights and freedoms which women had achieved up until that time had been discarded. The state of women and the situation and stereotypes ot women in lran, particularly the conflict between tradition and modernity, were issues that most of the feminist artists were preoccupied with.
