dc.description.abstractDemokrasilerin önemli ilkelerinden biri olan çoğunluğun iradesine saygı ilkesine göre, halkın çoğunluğun oyları iktidarı belirleyici nitelikte olur. Demokrasinin doğru işleyebilmesi için iktidar, kararlarını hem çoğunluk hem de azınlığın hak ve istekleri doğrultusunda ve devletin ortak çıkarını düşünerek almalıdır. Oysaki günümüzde çoğunluğun mutlak egemenliği ile çoğunluğun iradesine saygı ilkesi karıştırılmakta, demokrasi sanki çoğunluğun mutlak gücü olarak tanımlanmaktadır. Demokrasiyi bu şekilde ele almak, Antik Yunan’dan günümüze kadar gelen demokrasilerdeki en temel sorunlardan biri olan çoğunluğun üstülüğünün bir baskı rejimine dönüşme sorununa neden olur. Bu tezde, demokrasilerdeki bu sorun işlenmekte ve düşünürlerin düşünceleri ışığında, onların eleştirileri ve bu ilkenin yaratabileceği sorunlar incelenmektedir.. Antik Yunan filozofları demokrasiyi doğru bir yönetimin bozulmuş şekli olarak ele alırlarken, günümüz düşünürlerinin çoğu demokrasiyi günümüzdeki baskıcı ve otoriter yönetimlerin bir alternatifi olarak ele almaktadırlar. Bu tezde düşünürlerin demokrasiyi ele alışlarındaki farklılıkların da altını çizilmekte ve hepsinin ortak olarak ele aldıkları sorun olan çoğunluğun üstünlüğü sorunsalı işlenmektedir.en_US
dc.description.abstractAccording to the principle of respect for the will of the majority, which is one of the important principles of democracies, the majority of the people's votes will be decisive in power. In order for democracy to function correctly, the government must take its decisions in accordance with the rights and wishes of both the majority and the minority and in mind the common interest of the state. Today, however, the absolute sovereignty of the majority and the principle of respect for the will of the majority are confused, and democracy is defined as the absolute power of the majority. Addressing democracy in this way causes the problem of turning the top of the majority into a regime of repression, one of the most fundamental problems in democracies from ancient Greece to the present day. In this thesis, this problem in democracies is being processed and in light of the thoughts of thinkers, their criticism and the problems that this principle can create are examined.. While ancient Greek philosophers treat democracy as a corrupt form of the right administration, many of today's thinkers treat democracy as an alternative to today's repressive and authoritarian governments. This thesis also highlights the differences in the way thinkers handle democracy, and the supremacy of the majority, which is the problem that they all consider as a partner, is resolved on a problem.en_US
