Özet
Aortic dissection represents the most common aortic pathology requiring emergency treatment, and is still associated with a high mortality. In uncomplicated acute type B dissections, medical therapy results in an in-hospital survival rate of 90%, while complicated acute type B dissection is still a challenging clinical entity. Advances in endovascular technology have provided new treatment options. Endovascular treatment offers an exciting potential in the management of complicated type B dissection through sealing of the intimal tear area. Endovascular approach offers a less invasive mode of therapy for this high-risk group of patients by eliminating the necessity for thoracotomy, single-lung ventilation, and aortic crossclamping. This article aims to review the basics and results of endovascular treatment in the literature in patients with acute complicated type B aortic dissection.
