Özet
Toplumda her birey yaşamını devam ettirebilmek adına ekonomik özgürlüğe sahip olmak durumundadır. Bu sebeple bireyin hangi meslek grubunu seçeceğini aldığı eğitimler ve hayat şartları belirleyecektir. Bu meslek gruplarının içerisinde ulaşım sektörü oldukça geniş bir alan olmakla birlikte hem araç kullanan hem de bu ulaşım çeşitliliğine olanak sağlayanlar sektörün içine dahil olmaktadır. Dolayısıyla araç kullanarak geçimini sağlayan birçok insan bulunmaktadır. Bu insanlar arasında halk otobüsü kullanan şoförler, kamyon şoförleri, tren ya da metro gibi araçlarını kullanan vatmanlar, tır şoförleri ve taksi şoförleri bu kategoride sayılabilmektedir. Bu çalışmanın günün her saati sokaklarda görebileceğimiz taksi şoförlerinin iş doyumlarını, beklentilerini, yaşam biçimlerini ve yaşam standartlarını daha iyi anlamamıza yardımcı olacağı düşünülmektedir. İstanbul’da gerçekleştirilen, niteliksel bir araştırmanın ürünü olan ve Pierre Bourdieu’nun kuramından yola çıkılarak yapılan bu çalışma toplumsal değişme ekseninde taksi şoförlerinin yaşadıkları zorluklara da ayna tutmayı amaçlamaktadır.
Every individual in society has to have economic freedom in order to continue her/his life. For this reason, the education and life conditions will determine which occupation the individual will choose. Although the transportation sector is a very wide area among these occupational groups, both those who use vehicles and those who allow this transportation diversity are included in the sector. Therefore, there are many people who make a living by using vehicles. Among these people, drivers using public buses, truck drivers, train and subway drivers, truck drivers and taxi drivers can be counted in this category. It is thought that this study will help us better understand the job satisfaction, expectations, life styles and living standards of taxi drivers, whom we can see on the streets at any time of the day. This study, which is the product of a qualitative research carried out in Istanbul and based on Pierre Bourdieu's theory, aims to mirror the difficulties experienced by taxi drivers on the axis of social change.
