dc.description.abstractCholesteatoma is a cystic lesion which occured accumulation of keratinized multilayers quamousepithelium in the middle ear or other pneumatized regions of the temporal bone. Cholesteatoma of the petrous bone extending into the intracranial region is an unusual occurrence. A71-year-old male presented with ipsilateral otorrhoea and facial paralysis. After the diagnosis of cholesteatoma, the meningitis and brain stem infarction caused by lateral sinus trombosis were developed into the one year period. The patient's clinical and neuroradiological findings are discussed on the light of literature.en_US
dc.description.abstractKolesteatom, orta kulakta veya temporal kemikteki diğer pnömotikkavitelerde keratinize çok katlı skuamoz epitel ve keratin artıklarının anormal birikimi ile karakterize kistik bir oluşumdur. Petroz kemik kolesteatomları kulakta basınç hissi, ağrı, akıntı, işitme kaybı ve bazen de fasiyal sinir paralizisine yol açabilmektedir. Nadir de olsa petröz kemik yerleşimli kolesteatomlar intra kraniyal yayılım gösterebilmektedir. Burada kolesteatom tanısı aldıktan sonraki 1 yıl içerisinde, periferik fasiyal paralizi, menenjit, lateral sinus trombozuna bağlı beyin sapı infarktı gibi intrakraniyal komplikasyonlara maruz kalan 71 yaşında erkek hastanın klinik ve nöroradyolojik bulguları literatür ışığında gözden geçirilmiştir.en_US
