Özet
İnsan haklarına saygılı insan olmanın, insan haklarının korunması açısından çok önemli olduğu açıktır. İnsan haklarının ne olduğunun ve nasıl korunacağının bilgisini bize sağlayan ise eğitimdir. Eğitim, tutarlı ve sistematik bir şekilde gerçekleşmesi gereken ve sonuçlarını uzun vadede gözlemlediğimiz bir süreçtir. Eğitimin ailede başladığı düşünüldüğünde, anne-baba tutumlarının haklara saygılı insanların yetişmesindeki merkezi rolü de ortaya çıkmaktadır. Bu tezin amacı, eğitimin başladığı yer olan ailede, anne-baba tutumlarının, insan hakları konusunda bilinçlenmeye ne oranda etkisi olduğunu incelemek ve hangi annebaba tutumunun haklara saygılı insanların yetişmesine yardımcı olabileceğini araştırmaktır. Çalışmanın iddiası, insan haklarına saygılı olmada etkin olan eleştirel düşünme becerilerinin kazanılmasına en çok imkân sağlayan tutumun bu amaca en uygun olduğudur.
While there is no doubt that respect for the human rights plays a critical role for the protection of human rights, what provides us with the knowledge regarding the essence of human rights as well as the knowledge on how to protect them is education. Education, the outcome of which can best be observed in the long run, is a process that needs to unfold in a systematic and consistent manner. As education starts within the family, it is not difficult to see how important the attitudes of one’s parents are in becoming a person who is respectful to human rights. This thesis aims to explore the pertinence of parent attitudes towards the consciousness of human rights and to determine the attitude that can best help children in their development into a respectful person to human rights. The ultimate argument of this thesis is that, among the possible attitudes, it is the one that aims at the development of critical abilities that best helps develop respect for human rights in the child.
