Lung cancer is histologically divided into two main groups, small cell lung carcinoma (SCLC) and non-small cell lung carcinoma (NSCLC). The World Health Organization reported that 2,206,771 new cases of lung cancer were diagnosed worldwide in 2020 and predicted that this number will reach 3,503,378 in 2040. Tobacco use is the main risk factor. Persistent and worsening cough, hemoptysis, weight loss are the main symptoms. In early stage, surgical treatment and in advanced stage, cisplatin-based chemotherapy, immunotherapy, and radiotherapy are the main treatment approaches. Patients should be monitored closely for treatment side effects. Management of dyspnea and pain management are the scope of care for patients with advanced disease. © 2023 by Nova Science Publishers, Inc. All rights reserved.en_US
