| dc.description.abstract | In the context of new and developing countries, many technological improvements arise while destructing our environment in the process. It is therefore the duty of every designers to provide a place for man to live in comfort with less impact to the environment. The Philippines, located near the equator, is considered as one of the many tropical countries that has two seasons, sunny and rainy. Most Filipinos cannot afford to build their own house lest hire an architect to design it thus for those who want to proceed in building one choose what is affordable and conventional way of construction without popper consultation from the professionals. However, majority these houses are often poorly ventilated and of poor quality. Being in tropics, this results in excessive use of artificial ventilation using large amount of energy consumption per household. Balay, is a Filipino word for simple house, while Hayahay is also a Filipino term which means relaxed. To address the common long-running problems of every Filipino household, which are the high cost of building a house, excessive heat inside the house due to hot, humid weather, and high energy consumptions, the researchers proposed a simple affordable housing design adopting energy efficient methods by utilizing the following; Proper orientation in the Philippine setting for passive cooling; sustainability through usage of vernacular materials, rainwater collection and using solar lights and energy to name some. | dc.description.abstract | Yeni ve gelişmekte olan ülkeler bağlamında, birçok teknolojik gelişme ortaya çıkarken, süreçte çevremiz tahrip olmaktadır. Bu nedenle, insana konfor içinde yaşayacağı bir yer sağlarken, bunu çevreye daha az etki edecek şekilde yapmak her tasarımcının görevidir. Ekvatora yakın konumda bir ülke olan Filipinler, güneşli ve yağışlı olmak üzere iki mevsimi yaşayan birçok tropikal ülkeden biri olarak kabul edilmektedir. Çoğu Filipinli, maddi güçlükler sebebiyle kendi evlerinin inşasını üstlenemez veya bir mimarla çalışamaz. Dolayısıyla kendi evlerini inşa etmek isteyenler profesyonellere danışmadan, ekonomik ve geleneksel bir konstrüksiyonu tercih ederler. Fakat bu evler çoğunlukla kötü havalandırılmış ve düşük kalitede evlerdir. Tropik bir bölgede bu durum, hane başına fazla miktarda enerji tüketen yapay havalandırma kullanımının aşırı derecede artmasına neden olmaktadır. Balay, basit bir ev için Filipince bir sözcükken, Hayahay ise Filipince rahat anlamına gelen bir terimdir. Ev inşa etmedeki yüksek maliyetler, sıcak hava nedeniyle evdeki fazla ısı, nemli hava ve yüksek enerji tüketimi gibi her Filipinli’nin süregelen ortak sorunlarına değinen araştırmacılar, aşağıdakileri kullanarak enerji verimliliği yöntemlerini benimseyen basit ve ekonomik bir konut tasarımı önermiştir; Filipin’de pasif soğutma için uygun yönlendirme, geleneksel malzemelerin kullanımı yoluyla sürdürülebilirlik, yağmur suyu toplama ve güneş enerjisi kullanımı gibi. Bu bildiri ile her Filipinli için, uygun planlama ve tasarım hususları yoluyla rahat ve ekonomik bir ev elde edilebilir. | en_US |
