Öğrencilere verilen eğitimin hemşirelik derneklerine ilişkin bilgi düzeylerine etkisi / The ımpact of training provided to students on their knowledge regarding the nursing associations

Amaç: Bu çalışma, öğrencilere verilen eğitimin hemşirelik derneklerine ilişkin bilgi düzeylerine etkisini belirlemek amacı ile yapılmıştır. Yöntem: Bu çalışma gönüllü 45 hemşirelik öğrencisi üzerinde gerçekleşmiştir. Veri toplama aracı olarak araştırmacılar tarafından geliştirilen soru formu kullanılmıştır. Öğrencilere hemşirelik dernekleri ile ilgili eğitim verilmiş, öntest-sontest verileri yüzdelik, aritmetik ortalama ve bağımlı gruplarda t testi analizleri ile değerlendirilmiştir. Bulgular: Öğrencilerin çoğunluğunun daha önce derneklere ilişkin bilgi almadıkları (%84,4) ve tamamının bu konuda bilgi almak istediği belirlenmiştir. Öğrencilerin ilk kurulan hemşirelik derneğinin ismini, kuruluş yılını, toplam dernek sayısını, dernek faaliyetlerini bilmeleri ile öntest-sontest puan ortalamaları arasında anlamlı farklılıklar bulunmuştur (p<0.001). Derneklerin amaçlarını bilme, derneklere üye olmayı isteme (p<0.01) ve özel dal hemşireliğine ilgi duyma (p<0.05) konularındaki öntest-sontest puan ortalamaları arasında da anlamlı farklılıkların olduğu saptanmıştır. Sonuç: Öğrencilere verilen hemşirelik derneklerine ilişkin eğitimin etkili olduğu, öğrencilerin bu konudaki farkındalıklarının arttığı ve bilgi düzeyinin yükseldiği saptanmıştır.

Objectives: This study was conducted to determine the impact of training provided to students on their knowledge regarding the nursing associations. Methods: The study was carried out with 45 voluntary nursing students. A questionnaire was developed by the researchers was used. The training relevant to the nursing associations was provided to the students and their through pretest-posttest data were evaluated with percentage, arithmetic mean, and independent sample t test. Results: It was identified that the majority of the students did not receive any information about nursing associations previously (84.4%), and all wanted to get information on this matter. It was found that there were significant differences between students’ knowledge levels on the name and the establishment year of the first established nursing association, the total number of associations, the activities of the associations and in the students' pretest-posttest mean scores (p<0.001). It was also identified that there were significant differences between students’ pretest-posttest mean scores on the subjects on knowing the purposes of the associations, willing to be members (p<0.01) and being interested in the special nursing field (p <0.05). Conclusion: It was concluded that training about nursing associations to the students was effective and that the students’ awareness and knowledge levels on this issue were increased.
