dc.description.abstractBu çalışma, İlköğretim okullarında görev yapan yönetici ve öğretmelerin yabancı dil öğretimine karşı tutum ve görüşlerini incelemek üzere 2009-2010 eğitim-öğretim yılında, İstanbul ili Anadolu yakasında üç ilçede (Ataşehir, Kadıköy, Maltepe) yapılmıştır. Araştırmada veri toplama aracı olarak, araştırmacı tarafından geliştirilen üç ölçme aracı kullanılmıştır. Bunlar, Kişisel Bilgiler Formu, Yabancı Dil Öğretimi Tutum Ölçeği ve Yabancı Dil Öğretimi Uygulamalarına İlişkin Görüşler Anketi'dir. Yabancı Dil Öğretimi Tutum Ölçeği asıl uygulamadan önce geçerlilik güvenilirlik çalışması için pilot uygulama ile iki ilköğretim okulunda dört hafta arayla iki defa denenmiş ve uygun olmayan 11 soru uzman görüşlerine başvurularak ölçekten çıkarılmış ve ölçeğe son hali verilmiştir.Araştırma her ilçeden 3 resmi 1 özel olmak üzere 4 ilköğretim okulunda, toplamda 12 okulda uygulanmıştır. Araştırmanın geçerlilik ve güvenilirliğini artırmak için alt, orta ve üst sosyo-ekonomik düzeyden okullar seçilmesine özen gösterilmiştir. Her ilköğretim okulunda müdür ve müdür yardımcıları olmak üzere toplam 39 yönetici ve yine her okulda yaklaşık 30 olmak üzere toplam 332 öğretmen ve zümre başkanı uygulama kapsamına alınmıştır. Araştırma, tarama modeline uygun olarak yapılmış ve veriler, bilgisayar ortamında ve SPSS istatistik programı kullanılarak çözümlenmiştir. Verilerin istatistiksel çözümlemeleri için; frekans ve yüzdelik analizler, ilişkisiz grup "t" testi, tek yönlü varyans analizi (ANOVA), tek yönlü varyans analizinde anlamlı farklılaşma bulunduğu durumlarda post-hoc Scheffe testi ve pearson çarpım momentler korelasyon katsayısı gibi istatistiksel teknikler kullanılmıştır.Araştırmaya katılan yönetici ve öğretmenlerin yabancı dil öğretimine ilişkin genel tutum puanları 5 üzerinden 3,64 düzeyinde bulunmuştur. 21 soruluk Yabancı Dil Öğretimi Tutum Ölçeği bulgularına göre; cinsiyet, yaş, lisansüstü eğitim alma, kıdem, okuldaki pozisyon ve branş değişkenleri ile yabancı dil öğretimine ilişkin tutum arasında .05 düzeyinde anlamlı bir ilişki olduğu görülmüştür. Yabancı Dil Öğretimi Uygulamalarına İlişkin Görüşler Anketi bulguları, sosyo-demografik değişkenlere göre incelendiğinde, ankette sorulan 15 maddeden iki tanesi hariç 13 maddede anlamlı faklılık bulunmuştur. en_US
dc.description.abstractThis study was carried out in three districts of Anatolian side in İstanbul (Ataşehir, Kadıköy, Maltepe) to explore primary school principals', vice principals' and teachers' attitudes and opinions towards foreign language education in 2009-2010 academic year. For data collection, three data collection tools were used all of which have been developed by the researcher. These are; Participant Information Form, The Attitudes Towards Foreign Language Teaching Scale and The Opinions About Foreign Language Teaching Questionnaire. The Attitudes Toward Foreign Language Teaching Scale was first sent to two elementary schools for validity and reliability testing as the pilot study and applied twice after a four-week interval as a test and re-test. Having received feedback on the preliminary study, the questions found unsuitable by the experts were excised and the survey was given its final form.This study was carried out at 4 primary schools in each district, 3 being state 1 being private, making 12 schools in total. In order to increase the validity and reliability of the study, these schools were chosen deliberately from every rung of the socio-economic ladder. The sample size of this study is limited to 39 principals and vice principals, and 332 teachers and coordinators from 12 schools. The research was done according to the scanning model and the data was resolved by computing and using the SPSS statistics program. For the statistical analysis of the data, frequency and percentage analysis , independent groups t-test and one-way analysis of variance (ANOVA) were used. However, if significant differences were seen at the one-way analysis of variance, statistical techniques such as post-hoc Scheffe test and Pearson multiplication moments correlation coefficient were used.The general attitude score average of the participants has been calculated as 3.64 out of 5. According to The Attitude of Foreign Language Teaching Scale findings, it is apperent in the answers given on the 21-item scale that gender, age, seniority, educational level, field of study and position at school were statistically significant variables at .05 level. According to the findings of The Opinions About Foreign Language Teaching Questionnaire, a significant difference is found between 13 questions of the 15-item questionnaire and the socio-demographic variables.en_US
