dc.description.abstractBu çalışmanın amacı, yönetenlerin etik anlayışlarının yönetim biçimlerinin "iyi" ya da "kötü" olarak tanımlanması üzerine etkilerini tartışmaktır. Bu amaçla Platon'un, Aristoteles'in, Cicero'nun ve Salisburyli John'un siyaset anlayışları incelenmiştir. Böylesi bir seçimin nedeni adı geçen düşünürlerin devlet adamı, siyaset ve etik ilişkisini açık bir biçimde değerlendirmiş olmalarıdır. Klasik çağ düşünürleri siyaseti etik bir temelde incelerken ideal siyaset adamını da etiğin kavramlarıyla tanımlarlar. Diğer bir ifadeyle, klasik çağ düşünürleri demokrasi, monarşi ya da aristokrasi gibi çeşitli yönetim biçimlerini "iyi" ya da "kötü" olarak tanımlarken yönetenlerin etik anlayışını ölçüt alırlar. "Yönetenler kendi çıkarlarını mı yoksa ortak yararı mı gözetirler?" sorusu bir yönetim biçiminin "iyi" ya "kötü" olarak tanımlanmasının temel gerekçesini oluşturur.en_US
dc.description.abstractThe goal of this study is to discuss the effects of ethical approaches of rulers on whether their management styles are defined as "good" or "bad". For this purpose, Plato's, Aristoteles', Cicero's and Salisburyli John's political understandings are examined. The reason for such a selection is that the forenamed philosophers had evaluated the relationships of statesman, politics, and ethic clearly. While classical age philosophers examine politics on the basis of ethic, they also define ideal politicians via ethical concepts. In other words, classical age philosophers use ethical approaches of politician as their criteria while defining different administration styles, such as democracy, monarchy or aristocracy as "good" or "bad". The question "do rulers look out for their own interests or pursue common good?" constitutes the main justification of defining a management style as "good" or "bad".en_US
