Özet
The Ayvansaray district is located on the northwest of lstanbul's historical peninsula, right on the edge of the fortified Byzantıne walls near the Golden Horn. Both during the Byzantine and the Ottoman empires Ayvansaray remained as an important district. The historical character of Ayvansaray began to change in the middle of the 19th century. Since then low income families have replaced the small tradesmen, sailors and fishermen. The first aim of the Building Stairs Project is to find an idle area and give it back to the neighborhood by reutilizing it...
